25 weeks

I am officially 25 weeks today. These past two weeks have kind of sucked pregnancy wise.
I'll forewarn you, this is going to be a lot of venting/complaining so feel free to skip over this post and wait for better stuff. :)

I was one of the lucky ones who never had to deal with morning sickness. I was feeling great the whole time and my real only complaint was feeling tired. Which wasn't really that bad since I am really good at taking naps. Scratch that. I am AMAZING at naps. I can sleep anywhere, any time of the day. I can take 10 minute naps, I can take 2 hour naps. I've also never had trouble sleeping at night. I fall asleep quickly, enjoy sleeping in, and stay asleep most of the night.

oh how that has changed. I now dread bed time, thanks to all these new things my body has got going on. My restless leg syndrome has been probably been the worst. Not feeling comfortable just sitting on the couch is so annoying. Forget laying down. Someone recommended taking Magnesium, which I just started taking. It seems like it's starting to help!

My second little treat that I'm dealing with, I never even knew existed. My hands have been going numb which turns out is carpel tunnel. Whaaaaat? It's the worst, again, at night. Its started out where my hands just felt like they fell asleep, all thingly and numb. Now it's becoming painful. Not horrible, just a dull pain that keeps me up.

Mark is being really helpful, and we're trying a lot of different things to help me sleep. We got a new sleeping pregnancy pillow, new regular head pillows, lavender oils to relax me, night time tea, and random other things.

Soooooo I'm hoping all of these little things will help in a better nights sleep, since still have 3 months left and I know that I'm only going to get bigger and probably more uncomfortable. Just the thought of that seems like forever. I've had some bad moments where I'm sitting up in bed at night and Mark asks if I'm ok and my response has been  " uggggggh, I'm so over this pregnancy thing" There may or may not be a few explicit words thrown in there.

Anyways, this post is more for me, just to remember the good and the bad parts of this journey.

Now here's an actual picture of me! :) This was yesterday in our backyard, 25 weeks along!

Movement

Pretend Penny's paw is Mark's hand. That is how it's been for the past couple of weeks.
Mark trying to see if he can catch the baby move. We think he's felt it maybe once or twice. I however, feel it wiggeling all the time. A lot at night, right before I fall asleep. I was up late one night because of my annoying restless leg syndrome and was watching tv when the baby just started moving like crazy. I pulled up my shirt and I'm almost positive I saw it move on the outside. I almost wanted to wake up Mark to show him, but I knew once I'd do that it wouldn't move an inch.  Pretty crazy. I've seen video of my sister's stomach when she was a lot farther along and it is like an alien moving.
I'm excited for more of that good stuff! :)

So far I suck at blogging

So my whole plan of blogging a ton hasn't gone too well. Buuuut luckily, we are only at 24 weeks, and there are still 16 weeks left! So that should give me plenty of time to get some quality posts done.

Much has happened since that 20 week mark. First off, Mark and I are happily engaged! :)

I'll share that story in another post. But I will say it was wonderful and couldn't have been any better!

Another exciting thing we got to do was go to the ultra sound at 21 weeks. Mark's parents were in town from Mississippi that week, so I thought it would be a great surprise for them to come along with. I was really anxious going into it, just worried about what I would and possibly wouldn't see. Thankfully my worries were eased when they said everything looked healthy!  I got a little teary during it, but if  I'm completely honest I couldn't tell what a lot of the things were. Our ultra sound tech was training someone so while she was thorough, she seemed to spend a lot of time on the organs and atrium. She said things to us like "there's it's left ventricle.... blah blah more about heart organs that looked like blobs". I really just wanted to see the face. :)
It was a very surreal. Sometimes I wonder if I'm "actually" pregnant. I'm not sure why, because I am clearly showing, I feel the baby move all the time, and I've gone to the doctor multiple times. It's just that  the whole concept seems so huge and beyond me. The fact that I am growing a life inside me seems so bizarre. So seeing the ultra sound made it very really.
I think I actually said, so that's inside me, right?

We did not find out the sex of the baby. Why you ask? How could we not want to find out so we can decorate, buy the correct color of clothes, help knock out a whole sex of names????? Just because. There's no real rhyme or reason, it just seems more fun this way. We fantasize all the time about both scenarios, what they'll be like and what we'll do with them. And trust me. The baby room will look awesome regardless. I have been coming up with concepts and ideas easily without knowing the sex. The whole clothes issue is actually saving us a ton of money. Seeing baby clothes is like kryptonite. I HAVE TO HAVE IT! But I haven't really bought much. Both grandmothers have been very kind and sent us clothes that are gender neutral. Baby's are cute on their own. I'm kind of over the whole dressing them up to the nine's to go to City Market. Sad, but true. My 16 year old self would be so disappointed to know that. My bank account is happy about it though! :)

Well my coffee is gone and the puppies are in need of some TLC so that will be all for now!
